Let’s take a trip to Morocco and learn to surf there for a week.” Sounds adventurous, right? It does sound more adventurous without a single shred of doubt.

And certainly more exciting than lounging and relaxing on a beach in Spain or Portugal with every other European. (Nothing new)

Let’s say you’re new to surfing, you might wonder: What does a surf camp actually involve? And how do you know if you’ll enjoy it?

In this blog, I’ll give you a full day account of a typical day at Original Surf Morocco surf camp, so you can decide if it’s the right adventure for you.

And I will assure you, it is going to be the right adventure, and it will be worth it.

🌞 A SLOW AND SCENIC START

Your day begins at a relaxing pace—you are on holiday, after all!

Wander up to our rooftop terrace and take in the stunning views of Morocco’s dramatic Atlantic coastline and charming towns.

Breakfast is served at 9 AM, and what a feast it is. Picture an array of deliciously soft Moroccan bread, fresh eggs, pancakes, pain au chocolat, omelettes, and spreads of all kinds.

Pair it with a glass of spiced Moroccan coffee or freshly brewed green tea with mint (the staple of Moroccan cuisine)—and you’re set for the day ahead.

That’s your fuel for what lies ahead in the surfing.

🏄 TIME TO SURF

After a rooftop breakfast overlooking the entirety of Tamraght, our instructors help you suit up and get your surfing gear ready.

Then we head out to one of the many excellent surf spots nearby.

The team checks the conditions daily and chooses the best location based on your skill level and the waves—so don’t worry, you won’t be punching above your weight class when it comes to surfing.

Baby steps till you stand on the board, that’s our motto at Original Surf Morocco.

Whether it’s your first time ever or your tenth session, we’re here to help you progress and catch as many waves as possible.

We also provide a packed lunch and refreshments, so all you need to focus on is having fun (and holding on to your board!).

Surfing is a full-body workout—trust us, you’ll feel muscles you didn’t even know existed.

But the moment you stand up for the first time, that rush of riding a wave makes it all worth it.

Floating on the thin surface ocean water and gliding for a few seconds that feels like a lifetime and you are one with nature.

💤 AFTERNOON ADVENTURES OR REST?

By around 4 PM, even the most enthusiastic surfers are ready to take a break. Once back at the camp, you’ll have downtime from 4:30–8 PM.

You can use this time to rest and recover, or explore.

You can:

  • Ride camels or horses along the beach to catch a beautiful sunset
  • Zoom through coastal trails on a quad bike
  • Browse the colourful, local, rich markets

Dinner is served at 8 PM, and it’s a highlight in itself.

Freshly prepared by our talented chefs, meals range from traditional Moroccan tagines to a variety of hearty, healthy international dishes.

After dinner, we do a photo and video review of your surf session.

Surf analysis begins with our coaches giving personalized feedback and tips to help you improve the next day.

Then, unwind with a board game, a bonfire on the terrace, or a relaxed chat with fellow guests.

If you’re up for it, Agadir’s nightlife is just a short ride away.
